Cha de bugre
(Cordia salicifolia)

Cha de bugre is a really fabulous rainforest herb for weight loss. It's a small tree, also known as porangaba or cafe do mato (coffee of the woods) because it produces a red fruit resembling a coffee bean which is roasted and brewed into tea as a coffee substitute.

Go to Brazil, especially around Rio or to resort towns, and you'll find cha de bugre sold as a natural weight loss aid in every imaginable form -- as a tincture, in capsules, as a tea, in drinks and in smoothies. And not only in pharmacies, but at the beach itself and all around the resort areas.

Pretty smart, considering its reputation as an appetite suppressant and cellulite buster. One of the great things about continued use of cha de bugre is that it helps suppress your appetite and shrink your stomach by giving you the sensation of being full after only a little food. Because it doesn't completely cut off appetite you don't get ravenous at the wrong time.

Instead, the pattern is to eat smaller meals more frequently, which many experts believe is a key to sustained weight loss, keeping metabolism balanced throughout the day, and better overall health.

Here's the real kicker.

This was all an extra benefit. Cha de bugre has long been used in Brazil as a heart tonic and to improve circulation. Western science has now documented its cardiotonic abilities to tone, balance and strengthen the heart as well as finding out that it is anticancerous and antiviral.

Cha de bugre is available, though not widely yet, in the U.S. market. But it will be . . . a natural weight loss aid that's actually good for you!
